The recent energy supply shortages due to resource dependencies and rapidly rising energy prices have demonstrated how quickly and drastically geopolitical events can impact industrial companies. Therefore, it is particularly important to break away from the dependency on fossil fuels and switch to future-proof alternatives in the energy sector to ensure a reliable and sustainable energy supply in the long term. Spanner Re² offers an attractive way for industrial and energy-intensive businesses to replace natural gas with its proven gasification technology. What makes this unique: Spanner Re²'s gasification plants generate a clean synthesis gas (syngas) from biomass or residual materials on a decentralized basis, which can then be fed directly to the burner instead of natural gas. This not only allows fossil fuels to be sustainably replaced by a natural gas in operations, significantly reducing costs, but also enhances the company’s own circular economy. For example, waste wood, sawmill by-products, and much more can be used as fuel in Re² gasifiers.
Brickworks replace natural gas and fire kiln with climate-friendly syngas from Re² gasifiers
In the first project phase, August Lücking GmbH & Co. KG covers approximately 1 MW of burner output with wood gas instead of the previously used natural gas. With the direct use of environmentally friendly syngas, August Lücking GmbH is paving the way for a climate-neutral firing process in the brick industry and demonstrating that sustainability and profitability are not mutually exclusive.
