For this reason, Stemp has been generating energy for its hotel operations with sustainable CHP systems from Re² since 2014.
Wood gasifier supplies electricity & heat from wood chips for hotel operations
The first-class wellness facilities at "Das Stemp" have a high energy requirement. So in 2014, the hotelier decided to install a wood gasifier with 30 kWel and 73 kWth to cover the base load of thermal energy in the hotel. In addition, the wood gasifier from Spanner Re² generates electricity from wood chips, which the hotel feeds into the public power grid for a fee. Peaks in demand in the heating sector are covered by a wood chip boiler, which provides additional heat when it is needed.
The Stemp family expanded their energy concept in 2020 with "HKA70" biomass power plant
Due to the increasing energy requirements caused by many extensions at "Das Stemp", the hotel owners decided to install a larger wood gasifier from Spanner Re² in 2020. Now the HKA 70 biomass power plant supplies energy from wood chips instead of the HKA 30. With an output range of 68 kWel and 144 kWth, the system is perfectly matched to the energy requirements of the wellness resort. A tour of the purpose-built energy center is possible by arrangement with the Stemp family. The existing boiler was also integrated into the energy concept.
